OUTREACH & PREVENTION ACTIVITIES FOR STUDENTS
The Counseling and Consultation Services office routinely develops awareness and prevention campaigns, educational workshops, and interactive outreach tables to enhance wellness and encourage healthy choices in our campus community. Students and student organizations may request CCS assistance with outreach events to raise awareness of topics related to mental health, decrease stigma, and inform students of our services.
CONSULTATION & TRAINING FOR STAFF/FACULTY
The CCS staff offers presentations for departments to provide education on warning signs of mental health concerns and how to effectively make referrals to sources of help. We are also available to assist with orientation for new faculty or staff regarding our services. Our staff also provide consultation to faculty and staff when they are concerned about a student’s mental health and uncertain how best to proceed. If you are in need of consulting a staff member regarding a student in distress, please call 317-955-6150 and request to speak with a staff member. If it is not urgent, please request to schedule a consultation with a staff member.
INTERVIEWING CCS STAFF
The CCS staff do accept requests for interviews, whether for a student assignment/project or another purpose. A staff member will be assigned to the request depending on the topic/area of expertise and will meet for a (maximum) 30-minute appointment. All interview questions will need to be submitted prior to the meeting to allow for preparation and maximization of the allotted time.
SCHEDULING OUTREACH & TRAINING SERVICES
To request the assistance of Counseling and Consultation Services staff for an outreach, training program or interview, please complete the form below. Interview requests may not need to fill out every item. Please provide a minimum of 3 weeks’ notice when requesting your event to allow us time to prepare and identify staff who might be available. Some events may require more than 3 weeks’ notice. All requests will be reviewed by the Outreach Coordinator, who will follow up with you. Approval of requests is dependent upon factors such as scheduling, availability of staff, planning time needed, and the type of request submitted.
